From the 1st of January 2017, a number of new regulations came into force aimed at supporting the activity of academicians. New norms are followed from the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan ‘On measure to further improve and encourage the activity of academicians of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.’
Thus, according to the Decree, now from 1 January 2017, approval of full members of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be made by the President of Uzbekistan at the recommendations of the presidium and acting members of the Academy of Sciences under the relevant specialties.
However, from 1 January 2017 the monthly fees are raised of full members of the Academy of Sciences. If earlier it was the size of four minimum wages, now it raised to 10 minimum wages.

And that is not all. Within one month the ministries and departments have to develop new projects and submit them to the Cabinet of Ministers. In particular, it is intended to introduce a new mechanism for the active involvement of the full members of the Academy of Sciences in research, education and manufacturing processes, strengthen their role in the deepening of the integration of science, education and industry, as well as the training of qualified personnel. To this end, the necessary conditions will be created in the scientific and educational institutions and industrial enterprises of the country for the academicians.
