The mission of the laboratory:

The mission of the Plant Resistance Genomics Laboratory is to study the phytopathogenic background, develop methods for rapid identification and assessment of particularly harmful diseases and their pathogens, and study the genes of resistance to abiotic factors of valuable crops.

Goals and objectives of the Plant Resistance Genomics Laboratory:

The purpose of the laboratory is to bring the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics (CGB) to the leaders of research centers in the field of plant resistance genomics at the regional level and international vocation.

Scientific direction:

Mapping of new genes responsible for resistance to abiotic and biotic factors;

Abstract of genes in marker regions in the obtained genetic maps of valuable crops. Conversion of anonymous microsatellite and other types of markers in genetic maps into functional markers by identifying genes in labeled regions

Search and study of drought resistance genes (DREB, NAC);

Search and study of salt resistance genes (SOS, NHX). Determination of the structure of these genes and their regulatory elements. Comparative analysis of genes to identify key factors in order to further manipulate genes for innovative solutions.The obtained data on genes and their structures will be further used by the laboratories of the Center to develop new experimental plant lines.

Development of various molecular pathogen identification methods (SPECIES, SNP, SCAR, LAMP);

Organization of screening of the phytopathogenic background of the Republic, creation of a collection of phytopathogens affecting cotton and wheat;

Creation of a collection of monospore isolates of the genus Fusarium, pathogenicity assessment and creation of a DNA database of pathogens affecting cotton and wheat;

Search and study of pathogen resistance genes in agricultural crops;
