Based on the RNA interference technology, the scientists of the center have created new varieties of cotton of the Porloq series with high fiber quality and yield, resistant to various biotic and abiotic stresses, and have received patents for these varieties.
Patent for cotton variety Porloq-1 No. NAP 00146, 22.02.2017.
Patent for cotton variety Porloq-2 No. NAP 00147, 22.02.2017.
Patent for cotton variety Porloq -3 No. NAP 00148, 22.02.2017.
Patent for cotton variety Porloq-4 No. NAP 00149, 22.02.2017.
These new varieties differ from other cotton varieties in many positive ways. Cotton variety "Porloq" can be planted in all regions of the country and get high yields.
The "Porloq" varieties are most favorable for growing cotton in Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Bukhara, Samarkand, Jizzakh, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions.
On the territory of the republic, cotton varieties "Porloq" differ from other varieties in resistance to dramatically changing and various unfavorable climatic conditions. In addition, due to the high content of fruit elements in comparison with other varieties of cotton, it has a high yield of 18-20%. Fiber quality is the highest upland cotton with an average fiber content in the world.
In Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions, severe weather conditions in June and July resulted in seedling death in many cotton fields. In such cases, with the timely implementation of agrotechnical measures for the varieties of cotton "Porloq", there is no loss of fruit elements.
Intensive yield in cotton varieties "Porloq" accumulates up to 30-40 fruit elements.
Cotton variety Porloq-1 was created by individual selection of lines obtained by crossing the RNAi plants of Cocker-312 with the commercial variety AN-Bayaut-2. The height of the stem of the cotton variety Porloq-1 is 110-120 cm, the shape is conical, the stem is medium pubescent. Leaves are medium in size, 3-5 lobed, dark green in color, average leaf thickness. The flowers are pale yellow. The capsules are large, with an oval tip, 5-split. The root system is highly developed.
Cotton variety Porloq-2 was created by individual selection of lines obtained by crossing the RNAi plants of Cocker-312 with the commercial variety C-6524. The height of the stem of the cotton variety Porloq-2 is 100-110 cm, the shape is cylindrical, the stem is moderately pubescent. Leaves are medium in size, 3-5 lobed, dark green, leaf thickness is average. The flowers are pale yellow. The capsules are large, with an oval tip, 5-split. The root system is highly developed.
Cotton variety Porloq-3 was created by individual selection of lines obtained by crossing between RNAi of the Cocker-312 line with the commercial variety Tashkent-6. The height of the stem of the cotton variety Porloq-3 is 100-110 cm, the shape is cylindrical, the stem is moderately pubescent. Leaves are medium in size, 3-5 lobed, dark green in color, average leaf thickness. The flowers are pale yellow. The capsules are large, with an oval tip, 5-split. Early ripening, ripen in 100-110 days. The root system is highly developed.
Cotton variety Porloq-4 was created by individual selection of lines, crossing between the RNAi of the Cocker-312 line with the commercial variety Namangan-77. The height of the stem of the cotton variety Porloq-4 is 110-115 cm, the shape is cylindrical, the stem is pubescent on average. Leaves are medium in size, 3-5 lobed, dark green in color, average leaf thickness. The flowers are pale yellow. The capsule is large, with an oval tip, 5-sectioned. The root system is highly developed.
