On May 3th, 2018, the delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan headed by the President of the Academy, visited the Center of Genomics and Bioinformatics. The guests were met by the first deputy director of the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics Dr. Zabardast Buriev. The delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan was acquainted with the Center's laboratories and conducted research. After the tour around the Center, a meeting was held in the conference hall with the participation of the Kyrgyz delegation, the vice-president of the Uzbek Academy of Sciences, Ibragimov B.T, the leaders of the Institute of Zoology, the Institute of Genetics and Experimental Biology, the Institute of Microbiology, the Institute of Botany. President of NAC M.S. Jumataev said cooperation in the field of science will allow the two countries to effectively develop the region. The Directors of the Institutes briefly described the activities of their institutions and proposed directions on which they could cooperate. The President of the National Academy of Sciences (NAK) Kyrgyzstan noted that, within the framework of cooperation, Kyrgyz scientists could be trained by Uzbek colleagues who have already achieved significant results. M.S. Djumataev thanked the administration of the Center of Genomics and Bioinformatics for the warm welcome and expressed hope for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation. At the end of the meeting, guests were presented with souvenirs.
