3rd Republican scientific conference on "Modern problems of genetics, genomics and biotechnology"
On May 18th, 2018year, the 3rd Republican Scientific Conference "Modern Problems of Genetics, Genomics and Biotechnology" was held at the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. The conference was solemnly opened by the Minister of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the director of the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics, Academician I.Yu. Abdurakhmonov. Academician I.Yu. Abdurakhmonov warmly welcomed the participants of the conference and noted the special role of such events in the development of science and its integration with education, as well as in strengthening cooperation between the scientists of the Republic. He emphasized that the government of Uzbekistan provides comprehensive support to science and expands opportunities for the commercialization of its results. The reforms carried out have strengthened scientific research in all directions and new opportunities and prospects have appeared for scientists. At the end of his speech, academician I.Yu. Abdurakhmonov wished the participants of the conference success in their further research and expressed the hope that these studies will provide new innovations to the economy of the Republic. Then the participants of the conference acted according to the program, and each report was accompanied by a heated discussion. At the end of the conference, the best presenters received certificates and gifts.
More than 70 representatives of 19 scientific and educational institutions of the republic took part in the conference, and 130 theses were published. Topics covered a wide range of issues that are relevant to modern science.
Following the conference results the following conclusions were made:
1. The results of the conference show that in comparison with previous years the number of organizations participating in the conference increased, which indicates an increase in the activity of scientific research in the Republic. In addition, there is an increasing participation of educational institutions, the state of affairs on the integration of science and education has improved. It is necessary to strengthen the work in this direction even more.
2. Scientific research has acquired a more innovative character and has a huge potential for implementation. In scientific and educational institutions it is necessary to create all conditions for the accelerated commercialization of new developments.
3. In spite of the fact that there is an increase in the number of scientific works with the participation of young scientists, special attention should be to attracting young people to science and strengthening training work.
