In 24 October, 2017 at the 76th Plenary Meeting of the International Cotton Advisory Committee, on the First Breakout Session: “Technology for the Preparation and Planting of Cotton Seeds in Diverse Soil and Climatic Conditions” the problems of the quality of sowing seeds largely determined the outcome of the forthcoming cotton crop and the quality of cotton fiber were discussed. Aspects related to the development of automated, high-performance equipment complexes for improving the technology of sowing seeds цуку considered during this session. Specialists were examined methods and drugs for dressing and encapsulating cotton seeds, as well as means of field preparation, precision sowing, applied to diverse soil and climatic conditions.
Mr. Shukhrat Shermatov Doctor of Science, Scientific Secretary, Center of Genomics and Bioinformatics presented a report “Genetic Engineering of Drought-Resistant Cotton” on this Session. The report was devoted to the use of genetic engineering technologies in obtaining of drought-resistant cotton varieties.
