On May 16th of 2019, The 4th Republican scientific conference on "Modern Problems of Genetics, Genomics, and Biotechnology" was organized by the Center of Genomics and Bioinformatics under Academic of Science of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The conference was attended by with over 100 delegates, from scientific research Institutes of the Academic of Science, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, and including from the diverse educational institutions of the Republic.
First organism found that can produce chlorophyll without photosynthesis
A peculiar organism, scientists have so far called corallicolide (corallicolid). It lives inside corals, produces chlorophyll, but it does not photosynthesize. Why he needs this pigment is still unclear. The news of the discovery appeared on the website of the University of British Columbia (Canada), a detailed description of the coral parasite is given in the journal Nature.

Meeting of the Scientific Council!
On November 30, 2018, a regular meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Center of Genomics and bioinformatics. At this meeting, the criteria for evaluating the activities of Scientists of the Center were reviewed as well, the dissertation titles were confirmed of the candidates that successfully passed from exams for Ph.D. studies.
